Carapaz doubles up on the Tour's hardest day
26 July 2026
The second Alpe d'Huez finish, from Le Bourg d'Oisans, carried 5,624 m of climbing over 170.9 km -- officially the hardest stage of the 2026 route.
Richard Carapaz won it, his second stage victory in as many days after also taking stage 18 into Orcières-Merlette. Tadej Pogačar kept the yellow jersey with a comfortable buffer heading into the final stage.
